Privacy policy

The short version: your health information (weight, check-ins, activity and everything else you log) is stored on your iPhone and is not sent to us. We do not have accounts, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or share your information. Payments go through Apple, and our subscription provider only sees what it needs to confirm your subscription.

Who we are

Stayform (“we”, “us”) is an independent iPhone app developed in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information the Stayform app and this website handle, and why. If you have questions, email stayformapp@gmail.com.

Information stored on your device

To run the program, Stayform stores the following on your iPhone, in the app’s own private storage:

  • Your onboarding answers: medication status and, if you choose, the medication’s name; height and weight; your goal band; strength experience; the time of your biggest meal; and your answers to the exercise safety questions.
  • What you log: strength snacks, walks, protein, weekly weigh-ins, weekly check-ins (hunger, food noise, energy, how the week felt, and an optional note), reset periods and lessons read.
  • Your settings, such as reminders and units.

This information is not sent to us or to anyone else. It stays on your device until you delete it. Like any app data on iPhone, it may be included in a backup of your device that you make with iCloud or a computer; that backup is controlled by you and Apple, not by us.

Apple Health

If you give permission, Stayform reads your weight, step count and workouts from Apple Health, and saves finished strength snacks to Apple Health as workouts. We use this only to fill in weigh-ins, confirm post-meal walks and count strength workouts inside the app. Health data stays on your device. It is never sent to us, never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared or sold. You can change these permissions at any time in the iPhone Settings app under Health.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications. They do not use a notification server, and we do not receive any information about them.

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your name, email address or payment details from Apple.

We use RevenueCat to confirm whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created by the app (not your name or email), your App Store purchase and subscription records, and basic technical information such as app version, device type, country and currency. It does not receive any of your health information. RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf, on servers that may be located in the United States. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Analytics, crash reports and tracking

The current version of Stayform does not use analytics or crash reporting services, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. If we add analytics or crash reporting in the future, we will update this policy first, and they will never include your health information.

This website

This website does not use cookies or analytics. It is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to operate and secure the service. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to reply.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your information.
  • We do not show ads or share information with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not use your health information for anything other than running the app on your device.

Your choices and rights

  • Export: Settings → Export my data creates a file with everything Stayform stores.
  • Delete: Settings → Delete my data permanently removes everything Stayform stores on your iPhone. Deleting the app also removes it.
  • Apple Health: you can turn Health access on or off at any time.
  • Subscription records: to ask about or delete information held by RevenueCat for your subscription, email us. Apple keeps its own purchase records under Apple’s privacy policy.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, including under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and US state privacy laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act. Because your health information never leaves your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For anything else, email stayformapp@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

Your information is stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone, protected by your device’s passcode and encryption. If a security incident ever affected information we or our service providers hold, we would notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Age

Stayform is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Stayform handles information, we will update this page and the date above, and, for significant changes, let you know in the app before they take effect.
